Terrific Golf in the iconic Harpeth River Bottom
Some golf courses just feel right, ya know? This is one of those.
With many golf courses designed in and amongst massive housing developments, our Harpeth River Bottom stands out with homes only in plain view on 3 of our fun 18 Holes. Built on historic old farmland in the late 80’s, this links style course really feels like a respite amongst the booming growth of Williamson County. Beautiful old trees, fitting mounds and the Harpeth … ohhhh, the Harpeth River … just can’t beat crossing back and forth across her a few times!
18-Hole Championship Public Course
For you golf geeks, we were designed by well-known golf course architect, Gary Roger Baird. As basically the only Public 18-Hole Championship Golf Course in Williamson County measures nearly 7,000 yards from the back tees and features two of the best and most challenging holes in Tennessee, what is now the 4th hole and the 18th with one of golf’s great icons, an Island Green!
The Course
The front nine has a relaxed beginning with a short par 4 and a reachable par 5 second hole, both great birdie opportunities. Things toughen up quickly with the uphill Par 3 – 3rd hole, and our signature hole on the front, the dogleg left 4th across the mighty Harpeth River with the Bridge by which we named the course. Number 7 is a beast that requires a long tee shot and controlled approach to a shallow, elevated green with the ominous Harpeth lurking for those who come up short. You will at least enjoy the views as you cross the famed Bridge no matter the score you make on this filthy animal. The front nine finishes with a short but challenging par three over water, where three is a very good score! The back nine has a bit more of a links-style feel to it and offers more scoring opportunities than the front. The 13th is an amazing Par 4 along the river with a peninsula fairway jutting out from a beautiful pond. Hole 17 is the most fun risk-reward par 5 on the course, and is followed by one of golf’s great icons, an Island-Green 18th hole famed by our stately plantation-style clubhouse and patrons looking on from the #HeckleDeck taunting those who fall prey to the mighty moat surrounding the final green.
